The Red Sea

Over 300 dives and counting. From the sheer walls of Ras Mohammed and the pelagic show at Elphinstone Reef to the remote blue-water dives at Daedalus, the Red Sea keeps pulling me back — warm water, world-class visibility, and big-animal encounters on almost every trip.

Overview

I've dived the Red Sea more than anywhere else on earth, over three hundred dives across Dahab, Sharm El Sheikh, Nuweiba, Hurghada, and Port Ghalib, including liveaboards with Emperor Divers and diving with the Werner Lau centres in Marsa Alam. I've drift-dived Elphinstone Reef, home of the Red Sea's most reliable oceanic whitetip encounters (my husband once got an inquisitive nudge from one), and gone deep at Daedalus Reef out in the blue. Whether you want a relaxed week of shore diving or a proper liveaboard adventure, I can plan it because I've lived it.
